Simeon B. Chapin was a man of self-confidence, an individual thinker and a supporter of young people. A successful businessman, S.B. Chapin was involved in each of the communities in which he lived: Lake Geneva, WI; Chicago, IL; Pinehurst, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. His philanthropy provided for schools, churches, libraries, hospitals and YMCA's. He demonstrated his care of people by establishing programs and institutions to improve their lives. Even after his death in 1945, his philosophy lives on. Through his four foundations, he continues to build the communities he loved; he continues to inspire young people to grow in mind, body and soul; and he continues to encourage faith in God for all.
